I have always loved Harden furniture. Clients are often surprised to hear that there is an American company, family owned and operated, with a commitment to sustainability.
Apart from using trees from their own forestland, and sourcing within a limited radius, the Harden family has chosen to give consumers options for materials used which are relatively free of potentially harmful chemicals. Clients can choose natural latex or soy based foam, SFI-certified sustainable lumber, natural jute twine used for 10-way hand tied springs, organically grown and processed cotton batting and ticking, burlap woven from organic fibers, and pileated organic wool. Seat springs are made from recycled steel. A selection of “green” fabrics are available such as organic cotton, bamboo, hemp, and post-consumer recycled fibers. How cool is that?
