The Franklin Performing Arts Company

August 29, 2014

Beverly Ferguson, owner and designer at The Reflective Designer at Stow, will be attending the Gala Opening of the Franklin Performing Arts Company Black Box Theater, Franklin, MA on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 6 p.m.

The rehabilitated building, a former office supply company in central Franklin, MA has been vacant for some time but has now emerged as the center of cultural life in Metro West Boston. This is due to the visionaries at The Franklin Performing Arts Company, their sponsors, and the hard work of artisan craftspeople and designers.

Beverly built upon the architect’s footprint in developing the conceptual “look and feel” for the multi-dimensional facility. Besides functioning as a black box theater, the main floor will also house dance studios and serve as a function space for event bookings.

The specification of materials, finishes, and the development of a thematic palette were created in support of the practical needs of the facility yet solidly are broadcasting the ultimate intent of the space. A carefully crafted lighting plan and visual cues make for a comfortable visitor experience. Beverly also designed the all-important theater draperies for the space, essential for sound abatement. The result is a highly functioning space with state of the art capabilities yet possessing an intimate feel.
