I was blessed to have a grandmother who sewed beautiful garments for all three of her girls growing up. My mother also sewed garments and eventually draperies too. I had a creative gene, but had not tapped into it until we bought our second home and realized I needed draperies to make our space feel complete.
I would often manipulate patterns and learned a lot through trial and error/friends and family. After moving to Raleigh, NC, I joined a professional sewing group called the WCAA, which is the Window Covering Association of America and went to my first “Sewing” conference and was hooked! I could not get enough from books, classes, etc. to feed my growing excitement.
Along the way I met a designer who encouraged me to sew for their firm. From there, I worked with over 20 designers in the Raleigh area and have been published in several magazines as well as an Interior Design book. Working with these wonderful designers allowed me to combine my love for sewing with design and scale into custom made draperies.
Moving to Arizona has allowed me to fulfill my desire to work with clients directly and apply the knowledge that I have gained through my past experiences. I truly enjoy the delight in a homeowner’s eye when the final installation goes up and their vision is realized.
Using this knowledge and experience, I am building upon it and expanding my services into Hunter Douglas blinds, shades, and shutters, as well as furniture and accessories.
